AL-ANDALUS MAGIC

SEVILLE

 

First day

Departure by scheduled flight to Seville. Overnight transportation to the selected hotel category. In the evening visit a Hammam, a sanctuary of relaxation of mind and body at old Arab baths built within Roman ruins located in the beautiful district of Santa Cruz, where you will enjoy a relaxing hot spring bath. Transfer and dinner at a typical Sevillian restaurant with the most exquisite delights of Andalusian cuisine.

Second day

Breakfast. Panoramic bus tour of the historic heritage of Seville and then a walking tour of the Quarter of Santa Cruz and entrance to the Alcazar. We will continue the tour to the Patio de los Naranjos (courtyard of ablutions of the original Mosque) and the Giralda, the sister minaret of Kutubiyya in Marrakesh and the Rabat Hassan Tower. We end the trip exploring the exceptional Torre del Oro. Lunch and free time for shopping or optional tours. At night, dinner and a flamenco show, recently declared by UNESCO an Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

CORDOBA

 

Third day

Breakfast. Visit to Carmona, where Roman, Christian and Arab cultures are juxtaposed. There will be a walking tour starting at the Gate of Seville, to continue through the historic center enjoying the magic of all its streets, nooks and crannies, down to the old Almohad mosque, now the Church of Santa Maria. We will finish at the Alcazar del Rey Don Pedro, built by the Moors in the twelfth century, now a state-run hotel where you must not miss the magnificent views of the countryside of Seville. Lunch at Carmona. In the afternoon, departure to Cordoba, accommodation and dinner.

Fourth day

Breakfast. We begin our visit to the Mosque, the jewel of Andalusian religious architecture, as Al-Idrisi said “... among all Muslim mosques there is none to match both the architectural beauty and grandeur of its size and adornment ...” We enter the Jewish Quarter, on foot, where we walk an urban maze of small streets with the typical architecture of a Jewish ghetto. Lunch. In the afternoon we visit the archaeological site of Madinat Al- Zahra, a palace city ordered built by Abd al Rahman III in the tenth century AD; as with other caliphs, it was built as a symbol of his power. Oral history tells us it was built as a tribute to his favorite Azahara. Accommodation and dinner.

GRANADA

 

Fifth Day

Travel to Granada and lodging. We will begin our tour of the Albaicin, the Muslim quarter of Granada, the most impressive in Spain. It has spectacular views towards the Alhambra, with an obligatory stop in Bañuelos, the best preserved baths of eleventh century al-Andalus. Lunch. Later we will visit a tea shop where you can enjoy a delicious tea and a hookah (sheesha). Dinner.

Firte day

Breakfast. Visit to the Alhambra and the Generalife: palace, fortress, citadel, the residence of the Nazari sultans, their high court officials, servants and elite soldiers. This is the most representative monument of Moorish Spain. Lunch. Free time. Dinner.

Seventh-day

Breakfast, farewell, gifts from al-Andalus Magic Door, and airport shuttle. Departure flight to the city of origin.

SEVILLE

Walk along the Guadalquivir

Lovers of inland waterways can enjoy a pleasant boat trip along the historic river Guadalquivir, where you can enjoy a fabulous view of classical and modern Seville. Duration: Approx. 1 Hour. Departure: From 11:00 to 23:00 every half hour every day from La Torre del Oro.

Horse-drawn carriage ride

Enjoy a classic horse-drawn carriage ride. You will have the opportunity to see the monuments and central streets of Seville. Duration: Approx. 1 Hour. Output: Negotiable.

Visit a herd of bulls

The bulls are a long time part of of Spanish folklore. Duration: Approx. 3 hours. Output: Negotiable.

Vintage car ride

Go back in time, have the pleasure of taking a ride in a luxury car from the early days. Duration: Approx. 1 Hour. Output: Negotiable.

Helicopter ride

GRANADA

Corral del Carbón Nazarí

Built during the Nazarí kingdom in the fourteenth century, next to the silk market or Alcaicería, near the Mosque. Served as an inn for merchants, warehouse and wholesale market.

Madraza Palace

It was the first University of Granada, opened in 1349 by King Yusuf I Nazari, becoming one of the most important of the Islamic world at that time. It attracted many philosophers and scholars from around the world. Currently, the headquarters of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

Sierra Nevada

Lovers of snow sports will enjoy the resort's most famous mountain and al-Andalus. Winter-spring season.

Monasterio de la Cartuja de Granada

It was built in the sixteenth century and is characterized by a mixture of different architectural styles, but without any doubt the most outstanding is the Spanish Baroque.
